Freddie and Shao Wen are the organizers of the Rocky Mountain Lindy Festival and the founders of Sunny City Swing, a Calgary-based swing dance community dedicated to building joyful, welcoming spaces for dancers of all levels.

In just three years, they have grown Sunny City Swing from the ground up into a vibrant community hub — offering weekly dances, classes, and performance teams that help dancers develop deeper technique, musicality, and confidence.

But at the heart of everything they do is a simple belief: everyone should feel welcome on the dance floor, regardless of their experience or skill level. They built Sunny City Swing to make that first step easier — creating a place where new dancers feel welcomed, included, and invited onto the floor from day one.

RMLF is an extension of that mission: a celebration of music, movement, and the people who make Lindy Hop such a powerful and joyful art form.
