Clear guidelines to support a safe and joyful weekend
Shoe & Floor Care Policy
To help protect DC Dance Club’s beautiful newly sprung dance floor, we kindly ask all dancers to bring clean, non‑street shoes for dancing. Please change into your dance shoes once inside the venue. Thank you for helping us keep the floor in great condition for everyone.
Water Bottle Policy
Daytime workshops: Water bottles are permitted.
Evening dances: Water bottles are not permitted, as the bar is open and Alberta liquor laws prohibit outside beverages in licensed spaces. The venue offers water and drinks for sale at reasonable prices.
Health & Safety Notes
Wear clean, non‑street shoes to protect the dance floor. Stay hydrated and rest when needed. If you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, speak with a staff member immediately.
Code of Conduct
Treat every partner with kindness, awareness, and consideration. Communicate clearly, dance gently, and stay mindful of comfort and boundaries. Always ask before initiating dips, tricks, or close contact. Air steps are fine in a jam circle, but not on the social floor. Respect a “no,” and remember that anyone may decline a dance at any time. Support dancers of all backgrounds and experience levels. Use good floorcraft and check in if an accident happens. Harassment or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.
Photography & Media Release
By attending RMLF, you consent to being photographed or filmed for promotional, archival, and marketing purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed, please notify staff at check‑in so accommodations can be made when possible.
Incidental Capture: While we do our best to honor individual preferences, photos and videos taken at the festival may include participants in the background. This incidental capture is a natural part of documenting a live event.
Classroom & Dance Etiquette: Photography is welcome. Video is allowed during recap portions of class unless instructors request otherwise. Please be mindful of dancers’ comfort and personal space. No flash photography during evening dances.
